Tamworth - Evocity

One of seven vibrant Evocities,Tamworth is a dynamic, modern and progressive city and a major regional service centre with an easy going lifestyle and a strong economy.

In an Australian first, seven of NSW’s leading regional cities have united to form the Evocities campaign and encourage people to live, work and invest in an Evocity.

The seven Evocities are Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga.

Each of the seven cities has dedicated resources and funding to the campaign, and has in turn secured Australian Government funding, as well as support from the NSW State Government and corporate sponsors.

The Evocity name was coined because the cities are centres of Energy, Vision and Opportunity.

The main objective of the campaign is to encourage capital city residents to make the move to an Evocity and invest in the opportunities the cities have to offer.

Moving to an Evocity is not a sea change, not a tree change but a CITY CHANGE.

The campaign will showcase the abundance of opportunities in these regional cities due to their lower cost of living, strong career and business opportunities and enhanced lifestyle. Living in an Evocity means less time commuting, working and stressing, and more time for you and your family to enjoy NSW’s beautiful natural surrounds.

Tamworth might be synonymous with country music in Australia but Tamworth is much more than just bush hats, big buckles or golden guitars. It's a friendly city - Tamworth has won the Friendly Town awards a couple of times over the past few years and in 2009 was named the national winner of the Tidy Towns competition. In the same year, Tamworth Regional Council was named the leading council in NSW for outstanding progress.

It's a city where hospitality is based on city style with country heart.

Tamworth is a vibrant, easygoing place, a top Evocity where the lifestyle means work isn't such a hard stretch and there's plenty of time after work to play sport, play with the kids or just take it easy.

Salary rates in regional cities like Tamworth are comparable to Sydney salaries, if not better for many career sectors – but the biggest bonus is in the work/life balance. You get to enjoy it more as a result of lower housing costs, less time travelling to and from work and improved cost of living.
